When I was washing a load of his cloth diapers, I noticed tiny black worm-like things and I immediately began worrying that he had gotten worms from our dog who likes to sneak him kisses on the face every chance she gets. Please let me know which is good for him, b/c I’m worried he’ll get hungry if he has the last meal at 5PM ( his bedtime’s about 8PM ). & Even though it’s gross to some people, having a picture to compare it to is a huge help! After introducing solid foods to baby, there are very noticeable changes in his poop – and they CAN be a little worrying, particularly when you’ve become accustomed to the yellow, almost sweet-smelling poop of the breast fed baby! Have a really good look at a banana the next time you peel and mash it; do you see the little flecks of black/brown? I found short little reddish/ brown strings in my babies poop tonight. Yes, strange though it may seem, eating bananas can lead to the appearance of black, fibrous threads in baby’s poop and – from personal experience – we agree that they do look alarmingly like worms! His poo seemed to be full of little black threads. Nurse also confirmed from the phone that there’s nothing I need to worry about. I’d suggest taking her to the doctor to establish the cause of both this and the vomiting – please let us know how she gets on. i was worried & decide for not giving any banana anymore.
